A worship leader, songwriter and recording artist, Laura Hackett Park currently resides in Kansas City with her husband and fellow songwriter, Jonas Park, and their four small children. She writes and leads worship songs for congregations across the world and has led weekly at the International House of Prayer in Kansas City as an intercessory missionary since 2003.
To date, she has led over 10,000 hours of live worship sets.
From childhood, Laura has been inspired to sing and write music out of her conversations with the Lord Jesus. In her words,“When I feel the Holy Spirit prompt me with a certain phrase or theme” she says, “then I write a lot about it because it is my way of processing the revelation. The music keeps me in touch with my emotions, the lyrics with my mind and thoughts, and my voice keeps me in touch with my whole person.”
Authentic expression is of the utmost importance to Laura as she usually writes all of her own music, but the last few years she has enjoyed co-writing with a dynamic songwriting community led by her husband, Jonas. As a result of the rich songs written together in community, Jonas and Laura have launched an independent label called, Arrowhead Music.
Out May 14, 2021, "The Secret Place" Short Film by Arrowhead Music offers a glimpse into the moments of prayer Laura has had with the Lord. Laura prays those who experience this short film and the four songs within them ("Shalom," "Jeshua Messiah," "You Must Increase," "Anointed One") are led to an experience of peace, surrender and conversation with our Lord Jesus. “Shalom” which released on a ‘The Secret Place’ is her most popular song to date with over 2.3M Spotify streams.
With a vibrant catalog of more personal songs, Laura has had the experience and pleasure of working with talented musicians and producers from around the world. Most notably, she has worked with the Grammy and Dove awarded producer, Brown Bannister (MercyMe, Steven Curtis Chapman, Mandisa) and Ben Shive (Brandon Heath, Andrew Peterson) on her record “Love Will Have Its Day” in 2014. Laura has led worship and released songs on 7 of the last Onething Live albums recorded at a yearly gathering of 20,000+ young adults hosted by IHOPKC.
Laura earned a Bachelors degree in Music Theory from University of Missouri- Kansas City’s Conservatory in 2008 and has taught Vocal Performance and Prophetic Musicianship for multiple years at the Forerunner Music Academy, the International House of Prayer school of ministry.
Her passion for worship, music and songwriting comes from her desire to minister first to her Lord Jesus Christ, and out of that place to draw others closer in relationship and conversation with Him.
